A text
message or a call would arrive punctually every few weeks. "Hi! How are
you?", "I still miss us", "You were my only best friend
blah blah blah blah" and when she did not reply to any of the texts and
calls, "Maregi kutiya ki maut" (Die bitch's death).
Two best friends who shared everything together (not). He was
there for her when she went through her first heartbreak. She was all ears when
he called her in the middle of the night and blabbered on how he just got laid. He
helped her cheat in exams. She lied to his girlfriend about his whereabouts. He was there holding her hair when she puked her guts out all night. She was there when he took his first shot. Although they were best friends, they were as different as night and day. She
liked trance music. He loved Latin pop. She was a hard core drinker and he
could not even stand the smell of it. He wanted to be an IAS officer and she wanted to be
a teacher. Others used to think they were a couple and they used to laugh it
off.
What
actually happens next?
